This exercise helps to build your stay/wait cute while teaching your dog to follow your visual cues to come to side.
Be sure to indicate the side you want to dog to approach with your arm extended. Look at where you want your dog to end up. Then give your dog their release cue.
This also makes clear to your dog that if you are standing still, they should not run past you. Initially be prepared with a treat in your hand that is delivered by your side. Don’t reward the dog for going past you and then turning to face you.
