It’s always an exciting time when you bring a new puppy into your life. But it can also provide periods of frustration (biting, jumping, not listening, toileting issues). These are some of the issues discussed in the class. Owners are provided with a range of information to help them to understand and raise a well mannered puppy.
OK K9s puppy preschool is the best way to start off your young pup to gain confidence and social skills! This is a critical developmental time in a puppy’s life. The NZVA (New Zealand Veterinary Association) recommends early socialisation and early training. “Well socialised puppies are much less likely to develop behavioural problems“.
Owners learn how to:
- avoid destructive behaviours
- observe and understand body language
- manage biting
- communicate with their pup without force, fear, pain or intimidation
Puppies get exposed to different people, objects, noises while learning how to focus on their people!
All precautions are taken to ensure safety of puppies from sanitizing the floor to experienced supervision of puppy interactions.
Rebecca started her first Puppy Preschool in December 2001 and it has been running successfully ever since. During that time Rebecca has attended over a dozen professional workshops and lectures from local and international professional force-free trainers.
